Warriors of Love – Sacramento, California is committed to providing a full spectrum of services that meet the physical, emotional, educational, vocational, and spiritual needs of Pacific Islander youth, equipping them for a successful transition into independent and purpose-driven adulthood.

VISION

To establish a culturally grounded organization that restores identity, strengthens family and community ties, and provides at-risk Pacific Islander youth with pathways to healing, purpose, and independence.

A WORD FROM OUR FOUNDER

My name is Peniamina Ta’amai, and this is my story.

At the age of 11, I came to the United States in search of a new beginning. I moved to Seattle to live with my uncle—my mother’s first cousin—believing in the promise of the American Dream that my family in Samoa spoke so highly of.

But for me, that dream became something very different.

After arriving, I realized I was in a foreign country, separated from my mother and most of my family. I had already experienced trauma before coming to the United States, and instead of finding safety, I found myself in a home where I felt unwanted, unloved, and unseen.

Searching for acceptance and belonging, I turned to the streets. There, I was introduced to drugs, gangs, and a false sense of family. That path eventually led me to prison.

Along the way, I lost my identity, my connection to my family, and most importantly, my culture. Who I was felt like it had been left behind in Samoa. I felt alienated—caught between two worlds, belonging to neither.
